How To Style A Dough Bowl

Thanks For Sharing!

Alright guys, this post is just as much for me as it is you! I’ve been talking a lot on Insta Stories about my struggle with styling a massive European Dough Bowl that I got a few years ago. I LOVE the piece, but I have had the hardest time finding a place for it in my home and figuring out how to style it. I asked for your input and wanted to share some of the great ideas that were recommended along with some more I found on Pinterest. So how do you style a dough bowl, you ask?

Let’s take a look at all these ways!

How To Style A Dough Bowl

Here are tons of ideas on How To Style A Dough Bowl ! From turning it into a table, wall art and centerpieces.

My dough bowl is on the larger side, so a lot of these ideas won’t work for me. But I had so many messages from people having similar issues so I wanted to share all the idea here!

Dough Bowl Centerpiece

Using your dough bowl for a centerpiece is probably one of the most common ways to style it. I think this one from A Hosting Home is just stunning and so perfect for the holidays.

I also love this more modern take on the centerpiece display using succulents! Clean & Sentsible did a great job on this look!

Dough Bowl On Coffee Table

You can also take that arrangement and bring it down to the coffee table! This is great for every day decor, or switch it up for seasonal. Karen from Sanctuary Home shares a lot of different versions of this dough bowl decor!

Using Dough Bowl For Blankets

My sister-in-law sent me this picture and many other people also recommended blanket storage. I really like how relaxed and organic this look is. I def want to try something with this once we get our new furniture in the living room! (PS I cannot find the original source of this image, if anyone knows please email me!)

I’m definitely digging this very organic look here too. Just wood tones and gorgeous white linens. I think this is the direction I might want to go! (source)

Hanging Dough Bowls on The Wall

Since my dough bowl is so large, hanging it on the wall has been my thought all along. I have now tried two different locations, vertical and horizontal and yet I still can’t seem to get it right! But I love this super clean modern look from Beachwood Home.

Dough Bowl Coffee Table

Turning the dough bowl into a coffee table or a console table is such a great idea! Mine is large enough so I could definitely do this! I have been designing a console table that I want made for it, but this look from Hometalk is really great too!

Where to Purchase Dough Bowls

I got mine from Uber Chic Home at an antique market, you can also find them on Etsy, and Pottery Barn has a lot too!

What did you use to hang your really large dough bowl on your wall? I want to hang ours over our mantle on the wall but it is really large and heavy.

Right now I just have our leaning against a wall, I tried a few different ways to hang it but never found something I felt super secure with :(
