Handmade Sharpie Gift Tags

Thanks For Sharing!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Sharpie®. All opinions are 100% mine.

OK, how many Sharpie® pens do you own? I think Sharpies are probably one of the very first purchases you make in the school supply aisle and especially when you enter into crafting. They come in pretty colors, are reasonably priced, write on just about anything and allow you to leave big bold to-do lists on your fridge hehe. Yup, a crafter’s dream come true. But seriously, Sharpies rock. If you need proof, you can check out my DIY Eye Chart and my Industrial Fall Pumpkins, both done with a Sharpie.

Anyway, I had a few extra minutes during naptime yesterday (when does that ever happen?!) so I decided to get started on my handmade gift tags for this year. I did a quick survey around my craft room and picked out some old bookpages, postal paper and a good ole Sharpie (because there is always one laying around). In under an hour, I was able to make these custom Sharpie Gift Tags that also have the rustic and woodsy look I’m going for this year!

Supplies:

-Black Sharpie – Pencil for tracing – Old book pages cut into a 2″ wide gift tag – Postal (or red) Cardstock cut into 2 1/4″ wide gift tag – adhesive (glue, spray adhesive, etc) – Holiday stencils – String – Scissors – Hole punch (if doing them by hand)

Start by cutting out the bookpage tags and the larger tags, I used my Silhouette Cameo for this but you could also do this by hand. Next, glue the bookpage tag directly onto the larger tag, aligning the hole punches. Then, place your stencil on top and trace around it with the pencil.

Using your Sharpie, fill in the design until it is fully covered.

I did used a variety of winter and holiday designs for my tags. I chose colors that fit my tree theme for this year, but you could easily make these in any color, especially using Sharpie’s new Metallic colors. Did you know they also come in a convienent pack of 12? Oh the possibilities!

And add a little string and a big red bow and your package will be on its way :)

I love sharpies! I had a set of colored sharpies – but alas, my kids loved them too and they used them all up!
