You may have caught a glimpse of my gold accent plates from my Thanksgiving Table Setting I showed last week…. and now I’m sharing the super simple tutorial on how to make them! Would you have guessed that I bought the clear plates at Walmart for only $1.50? They are so glam now!
These accent plates are really simple to make, I think each one took me only 5 minutes. Not to mention they are super reasonable. I picked up these clear salad plates at Walmart for $1.50 each and gave them a lithe face lift.
I’ve never tried gold leaving before but it’s something that has always appealed to me. I found this kit on Amazon and it made the process so simple! You just need the spray adhesive, gold sheets and spray sealer.
I started with a thin layer of adhesive and followed the directions of waiting a few minutes.
I wanted a patchy look to my plates, as if they were worn. So I pieced my gold foil and then gently rubbed it on. Lastly, you’ll want to use a spray sealer.
I love how these accent plates turned out and how they are all different.
