Happy Valentine’s Day! I thought I’d bring back a tutorial from last year to honor this little day of LOVE. It’s something simple you can use that says Happy Valentine’s Day in a subdue but festive way AND you can even use it year round! Here is a DIY Arrow Art tutorial that you can make today, or any day.
DIY Arrow Art
I decided to mount my arrows on a piece of pallet boards that I painted white. It gave them a good background and made them pop!
This Valentine’s Day display in my home is all about my love for my family. I included our last initial along with a cute printable on the definitely of family (download it here for free)
You can be so creative with these arrows, you can completely customize them to be your own. Use tons of color, keep them neutral like me or make them in red and white for Valentine’s Day!
I may have gotten a little feather happy on these arrows, but the paper prints were just so amazing I couldn’t stop!
The other thing I love about this sign is that it could also work year round!
Here are a few tips on how I made my arrows.
SUPPLIES:
Leather Scraps (You can buy a whole bag of scraps for way cheaper than buying a large piece at a fabric store)
Patterned Paper
Washi Tape
How To Make Rustic Arrows
Whenever I’m getting ready to start a new project, I head to my craft are and bring out everything I think I MIGHT want to use. I’m such a ‘go with the flow’ type of creative. I never really know what I what to do until my hands start working.
I love love this paper from the Jen Hadfield line! All of the paper patterns are perfect for this project. And they are double sided too!
I gave the dowels a really rustic finish with gray acrylic paint. I used a dry brush technique so they looked worn. To finish off the piece, I attached them to a pre-made pallet I picked up at Michaels and painted white
I also added “Love you More” to the bottom using a stencil and paint.
I love how this turned out and I think it might be staying up for a while!

I love this! It is really cute and fits your space perfectly! I know, there is just something about arrows that makes you want to create more and more. Probably because there are so many ways you can decorate them! Great job and thanks for sharing!

What is there about arrows that draws us to them? I love them, probably have too many on walls in living room. Have one just for Summer/beach.
Your arrows look so awesome on pallet foundation. Can get those pallets for decorations at Walmart also, have corrugated metal pieces.
Your arrow board would look great over bed. Might have to move my gate hubs made for me few years ago to put arrow board over for something different for while. Get tired of same things on walls after year or so. I change out on l/r walls for seasons and holidays. Keeps me out of trouble and pretty busy. Agree the arrow board would look great all year as a statement for your love.
Am like you when creating, like to have possible options available, never know which way my head and hands will want to go.
Happy Valentines Day Sure is nice getting your posts again, missed you.
