Hi there! I’m pretty flattered that Taryn would invite me to participate in this event, and I’m so glad to be here! I have to admit that I don’t do much for Valentine’s Day around here, but I sure do like a little pop of V-day glitz here and there.
I think it’s no secret that I have a mad passion for Hobby Lobby. I can wander the aisles aimlessly for hours (yes, hours) and develop projects in my mind in the meantime. Not only do I love their selection, but I love the inspiration it brings. Items that I wouldn’t normally use for their intended purpose fill up my cart until I figure out just how to use them! That, of course, leads to my project.
I found this wooden heart at a consignment store and decided to revamp it for the holiday. Unfortunately, spray painting it wouldn’t have hidden it’s ugliness.
Hobby Lobby had their jewelry beads 1/2 off, and I found such a pretty pink mixture that I had to have it—without knowing what I wanted to do with it.
The difficult instructions? Smear some craft glue all over the heart, smash the beads into the glue, (official terminology here) and let it dry.
Combine your new bejeweled heart with a frame from your basement and hot glue that sucker right to the back of the frame.
Bask in your self-righteousness when your husband sees it on the mantle and says, “Wow? You made that? I’m impressed.” Of course you are, dear.
It’s just a touch of Valentine’s Day, but it’s just enough for me! Total cost? $4.00. Not bad, eh?
Thank you so much for being here today! You can find Chris at Just a Girl or visit her on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest!
