Capturing Rainy Day Fun

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Panasonic LUMIX. All opinions are 100% mine.

Spring is on the horizon, but if you live in Pacific Northwest this time of year is loooooong. After being cooped up in the house since November with three little kids, we are all having major cabin fever at this point! The rain just keeps coming and probably won’t stop until April or May, and the kids’ attention spans are dwindling. It’s that time of year when mommas around here have to get really creative with indoor activities.

Instead of getting depressed about another day of rain, I decided to capture some of these moments with my kids. The moments when the rain doesn’t seem to matter and we have fun in our own ways. Like heading out on the back patio and blowing bubbles. It may be cold, but we had fun. I brought out my new LUMIX 4K Cameras, this is the perfect camera for capturing active kids and getting those awesome shots. Just look at these faces. BLOWING BUBBLES 3 The first time I played around with the LUMIX I used it to capture the perfect portrait shot of my kids. With three little ones it’s so hard to capture that exact moment when they are all looking at the camera and smiling. You can view the first post here. BLOWING BUBBLES 4 This time, I wanted to capture every day life with them. The days are long but the years are short, right?! Panasonic Lumix G7 This camera is definitely becoming my go-to when taking pictures of the kids. The more I play with it, the more fun features I discover and love. LIMIX Camera settings For this little photo shoot, I put the camera in manual mode and then used the 4K video and burst feature. Then, I added a filter. There are 8 filters you can choose from. I went with the ‘High Key’ filter, it adds a beautiful brightness to the photos. You can get more information on G7 here. Blowing Bubbles 2 When taking pictures of the kids in an active environment, I used both the 4K video mode, which records a video with sound. It’s much like taking home videos of your kids but the picture quality is really awesome. When you play back the video on the camera, you can pause and save an image directly from the session. I love it. Not only did I capture some fun candid video of us blowing bubbles but I was able to snag a few cute photos too! I also used the 4K Burst feature. This allows you to click and hold the shutter button and it takes a series of images. Blowing bubbles I did very very minimal editing to the pictures using this filter. I sharpened the images every so slightly and that was it. I am really impressed with the picture straight out of the camera. On to play some more!

Thanks! I actually just got them and will be doing a full spring patio reveal in a few weeks. But you can find them on Amazon, they are inexpensive pillows and feel that way. But I think they are perfect for outside. Staircase reveal part one! SWIPE for the before an Staircase reveal part one! SWIPE for the before and to see all the details. This has been a major project over the course of the last 7 months, and it has been so exciting to see it all come together. My goal was to create an elegant and timeless look to our staircases, adding character with unique features of the railings, classic neutral runners with gold stair rods to complete the look and a moment for the large luxe chandelier that you can see from the courtyard. And of course a fresh look with smooth creamy walls.

But I’m not entirely done just yet! Part 2 will be coming in 2026!
