Bringing The Outdoors In

Thanks For Sharing!

This is a really awkward time of year in the Pacific Northwest. There are times when temperatures can reach 65 degrees in February, giving you a taste of nice weather and getting you in the mood to start spring planting. Than there are times, like this week, when you wake up to 7″ of snow and freezing temperatures and all of you want is to be able to sit outside and get some vitamin D. So if you are like me and live in a place where spring weather still feels so far away, I’m talking about Bringing The Outdoors In and getting your interior ready!

Today, I’m working with Better Homes and Garden products from Walmart, and giving you a few ideas on how to bring greenery into your home and some inexpensive ways to update your decor.

Bringing The Outdoors In

I was really hoping that the weather would turn and I’d be able to decorate our outdoor living space for spring, but instead I’ll settle for adding some cozy touches and greenery into our family room.

Bringing The Outdoors In

Bringing The Outdoors In

I absolutely adore these modern black lanterns, they can work great outside or inside, or use them as a centerpiece for your Easter tablescape. To give them more of a spring outdoor look, I added a few moss pebbles and rocks.

I’m also a big fan of adding texture though out the year, and sometimes that even means keeping faux furs up until the real hot temperatures hit. I love how chic these pillows look on the couch, and would you believe that they are only around $10 each? Such a deal.

Bringing The Outdoors InOne of the ways that I keep a space feeling cozy, is adding ‘filler’ items like this Greek Key Pouf. It’s not only practical but it also adds a little bit of dimension and pattern to this modern neutral space.

I think this space is just proof that you don’t have to spend a lot of money on accessories in order to change up to the look and add a little bit of seasonal flare.

I completely understand about the weather. The chances of me doing an outdoor post before… oh say JUNE. Are slim. It’s currently pouring and sounds like someone turned on the tap outside my office window.

Loving your fresh touches!! The lanterns look so perfect in your space. Hang in there, Spring will arrive… this Summer ;)

Hi Taryn, this all looks great and welcoming until you can enjoy the outdoors. In the meantime, is it just me? None of the links goes to a specific product page for me. Anyway, thank you for the fine post and have a wonderful day. Cheers, Ardith

Nice materials, but would never buy, because Wal-Mart is such a horrible company!

Hi! Thank you so much. The carpenter’s table is from Arhaus Furniture, but I don’t believe they carry it anymore.

Love those lanterns, hoping they have some at store as we’re going into Grand Junction tomorrow.. Love your coffee table and several other things I saw in your family room. Especially love lamp on table by fireplace, unusual and great looking.
You have such a casual earthy style, love it and am inspired by it..
Hope your holidays were exceptional. Happy New Year.

I see in the comments that they don’t seem to sell that carpenters table or the coffee table their anymore. Do you have any idea where to find similar pieces? Or are you looking to sell anytime soon?? Haha. Those are EXACTLY what I’m looking for to complete my living space.

Here is a link to a similar coffee table : http://bit.ly/2Mb5w32 The console table is much harder to find, it’s such a unique piece and I wish they still carried it!
