I told you it was going to be the year of the trees around here! A few weeks ago I shared my Wood Biscuit Trees and now I’m giving you the details on these super easy and inexpensive Coffee Filter Tress. When I made them I thought I was being super original, turns out some people beat me to the punch but I thought I’d share them anyway :)
I love how bright and airy they are, and they pair so nicely with my wood trees :)
Here is a really quick tutorial:
I bought all of my supplies at the Dollar Tree! So if you are looking for an inexpensive holiday craft, this is it.
– 6″ Styrofoam Cones
– Coffee Filters
– Hot Glue
Start by cutting the middle circles out of the coffee filter, and then carefully hot glue it around the cone. You can leave the layers as close or as wide as you want.
Keep wrapping until the filter creates a point!

Taryn, your timing is perfect! I’ve just completed a coffee filter wreath for a friend who recently opened a coffee shop up here in the Ottawa Ontario area. I had ‘dyed’ the filters in coffee then let them dry – they ended up somewhat mottled in colour which gave the wreath a vintage appearance. Love that! I’m now going to copy your lead and do the same treatment with the tree idea you’ve just shared. Kathleen will be able to place these trees on her tables, shelves and displays.
