Oh how I love it when we see glimpses of warm weather here in Seattle. After months of rain and gray skies the minute we see a few warms days everyone comes out of hibernation and soaks up every second of sunshine. We’ve had a better than usual spring and I finally got around to sprucing up our outdoor space for the spring and and summer months ahead.
I just love this space in our new home. I generally don’t change out my general home decor for the different seasons (let’s be honest, I’m just trying to finish decorating, period), so this outdoor space has been the perfect place to play around with different ‘themes’ throughout the year.
After we took down our Christmas Decor in this space, it’s been bare and lacking any character. You all know I hardly ever use color, but this space was just begging for it. So I caved and went with a warm mustard yellow as an accent color. After a few small changes, here is how it looks today…
I absolutely love how inviting and warm this space is now. The pops of yellow and fresh blooms along with the mixed patterns add so much character and dimension. We are officially all set for company!
I was so excited when I found these concrete planters, they are just my style and the perfect height for this area.
I found all of the pillows and rug on clearance at Target, it was a major score!
I’m really looking forward to having friends over soon to BBQ and enjoy the beautiful NorthWest weather. Anyone want to come over for a drink :)
Have you started sprucing up your outdoor space for the warm months ahead? I definitely suggest checking out BEHR DeckOver before you start giving your deck a makeover! It’s a 100% acrylic formula that conceals cracks and splinters up to ¼” deep and dries four times thicker than traditional stain. It works on wood, composite and concrete surfaces (decks, railings, patios, composite decks, pool decks, walkways, porches, boat docks). It even repels water and creates a smooth, slip-resistant finish that protects against harsh weather conditions.
And I love this part, it’s comfortable for bare feet (because I’m always kicking off my shoes this time of year!).
